As part of the $1K/Day Experiment, I’m back publishing Income Reports for Success with Soul about sustainable online business. Today I’m sharing how my business stayed profitable during a slower, more intentional month where I leaned heavily into rest, reflection, and trust in my systems.

We’re back with the 3rd installment of my Income Reports, after taking a long hiatus. First, I shared what changed in the 4 years since I stopped publishing income reports. And last month, I talked about how I make value-based decisions that resulted in daily sales without social media.
This month, we’re continuing as promised as part of The $1K/Day Experiment, which is my behind-the-scenes journey to making $1,000 per day in passive product sales, not counting affiliates, sponsors and other active income.
While these posts are public for anyone to read, if you want to get an even deeper look into exactly what I’m doing in my business to make consistent daily sales without ever posting on social media then I invite you to grab your unfiltered backstage pass here.
If November’s report was a showcase of big wins and daily momentum, December felt like a deep exhale. At the time of this writing, I’m currently sitting at 212 days of daily sales, averaging $488/day. December was intentionally a slower month for me, both in life and business, which dragged my daily average down quite a bit. And while December wasn’t about breaking records, it was a beautiful reminder that even when I wasn’t actively “doing,” sales continued, and I was able to keep my streak of daily revenue alive.
Let’s dig into the details, takeaways, and what made this quiet month so valuable.
This was one of my lowest income months of the year (including while I was on my sabbatical), and I’ll admit—I procrastinated writing this report. Vulnerability hangovers are real, y’all. I kept worrying if I’d be judged for a low-revenue month. Would people think less of me? Maybe. But as Mel Robbins’s book reminds me: Let them.
When I take a step back, I see how much pressure I’ve been putting on these reports to be more than they need to be. What if “good enough” really is enough?
At the heart of it, my intention with income reports is simple: Transparency as a Teaching Tool. I want to show you what intentional, sustainable, soul-aligned growth looks like in real time. And December was a perfect case study in how revenue ebbs and flows but doesn’t define success.
Yes, my revenue was definitely down in December, which I knew would happen due to me taking most of the month off and not doing any active promotions.
AND, I’m grateful I can design my business to ebb and flow with my own energy, capacity and personal life, and loved being able to spend more time with my family over the holidays.
It’s easy to spiral into scarcity thinking when revenue dips, but this month reminded me that income isn’t the only measure of success. This dip doesn’t mean my business is failing; it means I’m creating space for sustainability, not just hustle. What matters is the life I’m building alongside the business.

I took a deliberate step back this month, with just one bundle participation and no Get It Done Week. My pageviews dropped from 15k to 8.8k, and the data speaks:
Visibility, aside from SEO, is really a matter of getting out what you put in. And last month, I intentionally put in very little. I know that will change in a big way in 2025, so I’m okay with it.
But here’s the flip side: the systems I’ve built—SEO, evergreen funnels, and automated emails—still worked even when I didn’t.
If you want to learn more about how to actively search out visibility opportunities and stop waiting for people to come to you, checkout our course: Painless Publicity!
It’s clear that my site could use some TLC in the coming year to rebuild momentum. Looks like I’ll be taking my own SEO course 😉
And I’m super excited that in February, our Get it Done Week is going to be focused on SEO and AI and how to harness the two in 2025 with a what’s working now guest training from SEO expert Meg Clarke. Join here.
NOTE: Just a quick note to point out that while it’s amazing that Kartra gives us data like how much each subscriber is worth and their lifetime value, this isn’t 100% accurate for my business because we also sell through Shopify. And that isn’t counted towards these numbers.

Each month, I feature one question about online business from a reader. Submit your question in the comments and I’ll answer one next month!
This month wasn’t about hitting revenue goals or launching new projects—it was about slowing down, reflecting, and making space for what truly matters. And having a life-first business means building in space for what matters outside of work.
So, if you’re feeling stretched thin or hesitant to pause, let me be your reminder that rest is productive. I didn’t do it all, but I did what mattered most. In a season where I could’ve pushed harder, I leaned into alignment instead. My revenue reflected that decision, but so did my mental health—and that’s priceless.
Despite feeling like a sloth most days (hello, couch naps by the Christmas tree), my business stayed afloat because of the systems I’ve put in place. Trust your systems. Trust your audience. And most importantly, trust yourself. Rest is productive.
Here’s to a calm, aligned, and profitable 2025!
