As part of the $1K/Day Experiment, I’m back publishing Income Reports for Success with Soul about sustainable online businesses built on passive income. Today I’m sharing how recurring revenue streams and aligned growth strategies helped me make daily sales without social media, even with unexpected snow days, sick kids, and travel prep.

We’re back with the 4th installment of my Income Reports—part of The $1K/Day Experiment, my behind-the-scenes journey to making $1,000 per day in passive product sales without relying on social media. If you’re new here, these reports serve as both a transparency tool and a blueprint for how I’m growing my online business in a way that prioritizes sustainability, alignment, and rest.
January was a month of slow but steady momentum, navigating the post-holiday energy slump while balancing work with real life.
If January had a theme, it would be controlled chaos. Between back-to-back snow days (hello, Atlanta, what even is this?), sick kids home for over 2 weeks in a row (which bled into February), and gearing up for 3 back-to-back trips, my work schedule was anything but predictable.
Some days, I managed a few solid hours at my desk; other days, work was answering Voxer messages in my car after dropping the kids off at school.
But here’s the thing: my business kept running.
My email list grew. Sales came in. Revenue was solid.
This month reminded me that while income may ebb and flow, the systems I’ve built are what keep my business profitable even when I’m not “on” all the time.
Let’s dig into the details, key takeaways, and what I focused on in January to maintain revenue while honoring my capacity.
Note: While these posts are public for anyone to read, if you want to get an even deeper look into exactly what I’m doing in my business to make consistent daily sales without ever posting on social media then I invite you to grab your unfiltered backstage pass here.
On paper, my 78.8% profit margin looks amazing—and it is. But the truth is, this is still a major growth edge for me.
After years of running a business with $30K+ payrolls every month, I’ve become hyper-cautious about hiring again and admittedly have some unresolved money trauma I need to work through.
I love the simplicity of being a one-woman show. No payroll stress. No big overhead. Nobody waiting on me for anything. Just me, my laptop, and my latte.
But I also know I can’t scale alone forever. For months now, I’ve been meaning to outsource blogging and a few other things, but every time I sit down to make the hire, I freeze. If it’s not bringing in immediate ROI, I hesitate.
So, February’s focus? Start small. Hire strategically and for one-off projects instead of expensive ongoing retainers. Trust that delegation doesn’t mean disaster.

These are the underdogs that really deserve more credit!

I didn’t do anything new to drive traffic in January—just let my SEO and evergreen content do their thing.
But here’s the honest truth: I’ve had ‘restart regular blogging’ on my to-do list for MONTHS now, and it keeps getting pushed off.
I know content is my biggest long-term asset. I teach this. And yet, finding the bandwidth to sit down and actually write blog posts? Not happening.
I’m officially this close to hiring it out again. I know that once I have someone regularly publishing SEO-optimized content, my traffic will take off even more.
I also joined Simple Pin Media’s Inner Circle to grow my organic traffic through one my former most effective and lucrative search platforms: Pinterest. So that’s a goal for me so start implementing by the end of Q1.
My top-performing pages were:

If you’re tired of the social media hamster wheel but still want a steady stream of new leads, here’s what’s working for me to add nearly 1,000 new subscribers without posting one single time:
1. Always have opt-ins that are converting well.
I have multiple evergreen freebies all over my website. And each one is in 7 different places. This is exactly what I teach in the Launch Lab about starting your email list.
2. Leverage other people’s audiences.
But just having lead magnets doesn’t matter if nobody can find them. Instead of chasing algorithm changes, I focus on summits, bundles, podcast guesting, and JV webinars. These partnerships send warm, ready-to-buy leads straight to my list—without me having to “go viral” on Instagram.
3. Set up a strong email nurture sequence.
Once people join my list, they immediately start receiving value-packed emails. I don’t just let them sit there. My welcome sequence builds trust, sells passively, and leads into an evergreen sales ecosystem.
NOTE: Just a quick note to point out that while it’s amazing that Kartra gives us data like how much each subscriber is worth and their lifetime value, this isn’t 100% accurate for my business because we also sell through Shopify. And that isn’t counted towards these numbers.
1. Leaning into Seasonality and Slower Energy
January historically is one of my highest-revenue months, but I intentionally took a slow and steady approach instead of playing into the “new year, new me” hustle culture. This meant prioritizing rest, reflection, and long-term planning over immediate revenue spikes.
2. Honoring My Capacity (and Unexpected Interruptions )
Between unexpected snow days, sick kids, and prepping for 3 back-to-back trips, my work hours were sporadic at best. Instead of forcing productivity, I trusted that the systems I’ve built—SEO, email funnels, and evergreen products—would keep the business running. And they did!
3. Getting Intentional with My 2025 Strategy
A major theme for me this year is diversifying revenue and shifting towards more recurring income streams. After looking at historical revenue trends, I realized that my income is highly dependent on launches and promos—something I want to stabilize a bit more. For me, that looks like:
More recurring revenue (memberships, evergreen offers)
A steadier mix of high-ticket and low-ticket sales (not only promoting MBA)
SEO & organic growth strategies to drive passive traffic
Paid + passive lead gen through running ads (something I’m going to start doing in February as I try to grow my passive income now that I know my funnels are performing well organically)
Entrepreneurship is lonely. But you’re not alone anymore! Clients who show up for these calls get better results faster—period. Use the code ROOMFOR7.
Add these to your to-do list if you want more passive income streams!
A Slow MBA Promo: I ran a flash sale for Mindful Business Academy and… crickets. This was surprising, given that past MBA promos have done well. But instead of spiraling, I looked at the data:
Pivot: Instead of focusing on big launches for high-ticket programs, I’m shifting towards low-ticket and high-touch offers (like The Room and Voxer Coaching) for Q1. This lets me meet my audience where they’re at while still creating recurring revenue.
Later in the year, when I’ve built more trust and engagement, I’ll revisit MBA with a more strategic approach.

Each month, I feature one question about online business from a reader. Submit your question in the comments and I’ll answer one next month!
I used to think hustling harder was the only way to grow. Now I know:
Slowing down is a strategy.
Simplicity scales.
Long-term success comes from sustainable habits, not burnout sprints.
This month wasn’t about record-breaking revenue. It was about trust. Trusting my systems. Trusting my audience. And trusting that ease is a valid business plan.
Here’s to a slow, sustainable, and soul-aligned 2025.
If you’d like a closer look at how I make daily sales without social media, consider joining me in The $1K-a-Day Experiment for unfiltered insights and access to my evolving strategies.
In January 2025, my most profitable passive income streams were the Mindful Business Academy ($5,401.98), low-ticket digital products ($2,988.35), and affiliate marketing ($2,435.14). The key to sustainability was creating evergreen funnels that sell these products automatically, even during periods of lower activity. My welcome email sequence with its 50.31% open rate continues to be a powerful conversion tool, demonstrating that well-crafted email marketing remains one of the most sustainable passive income methods for online businesses.
While I didn’t actively work to increase traffic in January (it grew from 8.8k to 11.5k pageviews), my sustainable traffic strategy relies on SEO-optimized content and strategic partnerships rather than social media. My most effective traffic sources were email marketing (counted as “Direct” traffic), organic search through Google, and participation in bundles. This approach to increasing website traffic without social media allowed me to maintain steady growth even while managing snow days, sick kids, and travel preparations.
The most effective online business growth strategy I’ve found is focusing on recurring revenue streams. In January, I generated $2,791.50 from recurring revenue products like Launch Lab, The Room, and Inbox Insights. When facing capacity limitations (as I did with sick kids and snow days), having these predictable income sources creates what I call a “financial weighted blanket.” I recommend entrepreneurs identify 2-3 potential recurring offers that align with their expertise and implement them before capacity challenges arise.
Mindful entrepreneurship means recognizing that rest is a revenue strategy. In January, I intentionally took a slow approach rather than pushing for maximum revenue. This meant trusting my systems, accepting that some days I’d only manage a few hours of work, and focusing on high-leverage activities. My 78.8% profit margin demonstrates that this approach works financially, while preserving my wellbeing. The key is building automated systems that continue working even when you can’t, allowing you to prioritize self-care without sacrificing business performance.
The most effective holistic business growth technique I’ve implemented is what I call “controlled simplicity.” After years of running a business with a large team and $30k+ monthly payroll, I’ve discovered that a streamlined operation (just me, with occasional contractors for specific projects) creates both financial freedom and lifestyle flexibility. This approach allowed me to maintain a profitable business in January despite family obligations and limited work hours. For entrepreneurs seeking work-life balance, I recommend critically examining which business components truly require your personal attention versus what can be automated or eliminated.
