Discover how an Energy Audit can transform your business and life by aligning your work with your natural rhythms for more time, money, and freedom— so you can work with your body, not against it.

Last year, I sat at my desk staring at a blinking cursor, willing my brain to care about the half-finished sales page in front of me. It was 2:14 p.m., the coffee had worn off, and my shoulders felt like they were holding up the weight of every decision I’d made since breakfast.
This wasn’t about needing another productivity hack for women entrepreneurs. My Google calendar was full of neatly color-coded time blocks. This was about the fact that I’d burned my creative peak hours on inbox triage and client “quick questions,” instead of the big, meaningful work that actually drives sustainable business growth.
That’s where an energy audit for entrepreneurs came in — my own tool for burnout prevention and reclaiming my best hours.
Your problem isn’t time. It’s energy.
Think of it like money management. You wouldn’t blow your rent money on a random Target run. So why are you spending your high-energy hours on low-priority work?
An energy audit is where you track exactly what fuels you and what drains you, then redesign your schedule so your best energy isn’t wasted on busywork.
And if you think burnout is just a rite of passage for coaches or small business owners: 52% of entrepreneurs experience burnout at least once a year, and 41% say it’s messing with their mental health (Zipdo).
Keep a simple log (pen and paper works!) of your daily energy levels, from the moment you wake up until you go to bed. Note the time, your activity, and how you feel on a scale from 1–10.
Pro Tip: Don’t just track your work tasks — include meals, workouts, social time, menstrual cycle, and rest. I’ve been documenting all my activities inside my Real Reels that’s a part of the 1k/day experiment and it’s been so helpful in seeing where my time and energy are going on a daily basis. I cannot recommend tracking enough!

This is where my PCOS and cycle syncing obsession comes in.
I’ve been tracking my menstrual cycle since 2014 because PCOS made me hyper-aware of how much my energy shifts. When I match my business tasks to those shifts, everything flows easier. With PCOS, I learned the hard way that ignoring my body’s natural rhythms leads straight to burnout. And I’ve taught hundreds of women how to do this for themselves inside my Cyclical Living workshop.
Research shows that cycle syncing — adjusting your nutrition, workouts, and work rhythms to different phases of your cycle — can help improve mood, boost energy, and manage PMS symptoms (Verywell Mind). Experts at the Cleveland Clinic also note it may help balance hormones in people with PCOS and reduce fatigue (Cleveland Clinic).
Example: I schedule my deep creative work during my follicular and ovulatory phases, when my energy and focus peak. During my luteal phase, I focus on admin tasks and wrap up projects. And in my menstrual phase, I prioritize rest and reflection.
Even if you don’t have a cycle, you can still spot daily or weekly rhythms — maybe your mornings are for strategy, afternoons for meetings.
Pro Tip: Use AI to help you track and identify natural patterns. Try keeping a daily health journal on Chat GPT and write a quick entry each day. You’ll be surprised at the patterns it can help identify!
Circle the activities in your log that made you feel alive and inspired. Then, underline the ones that left you exhausted or irritable.
Ask yourself:
Pro Tip: Even if you’re a solopreuner, you can create your own AI Dream Team that you can delegate tasks to. Check out our Back Office Bot Squad course to get your first AI Assistant onboarded!
Shift your highest-priority work into your peak energy times. Delegate, automate, or eliminate the drains where possible. And actually do this on your calendar. I have large blocks for focus time blocked on my calendar and always plan my calendar to give me ample white space. Check out my full Beyond Burnout Calendaring system here.
Example: If Zoom meetings tank your energy, batch them on one afternoon a week instead of scattering them across your calendar.
Your energy patterns will shift with seasons, stress, and life changes. Revisit your Energy Audit quarterly to keep your business aligned with your life.
Pro Tip: You can pair your quarterly energy audit with a quarterly business audit for even more meaningful results!

Time management assumes all hours are equal. Energy management acknowledges that they’re not.
Most entrepreneurs don’t burn out from too little time — they burn out from spending their best energy on the wrong work.
When you align your business with your natural energy rhythms, you prevent burnout — something that 30% of business owners say they experience often (Sana Ross).
Work less while getting more done.
Earn more by focusing your peak energy on revenue-generating activities.
Result: fewer burnout spirals, more sustainable growth, and a business that runs with your body — not against it.
If the Energy Audit showed you where your energy is going, the Clockwork Queen Planning and Productivity course shows you exactly how to spend it.
This is Feminist Planning + Productivity to Find More Time + Get Sh*t Done — without hustling yourself into the ground.
Picture this:
Clockwork Queen isn’t another ”just use this app” or “try waking up at 5 a.m.” kind of productivity course.
It’s your personal revolution against procrastination and self-sabotage — especially if you’re a busy parent, a multi-hat entrepreneur, or someone who’s over feeling like they’re always behind.
Here’s what we’ll tackle together:
If you’ve ever thought, “I should be further along by now”, Clockwork Queen will help you get there — faster, with less busywork, and more being.

An energy audit is a simple process where you track your energy levels throughout the day for a couple of weeks, note what activities fuel you vs. drain you, and then restructure your calendar so your best hours go to your most important work. It’s like a budget for your brainpower — designed to prevent burnout and boost productivity without adding more hours to your schedule.
Time management assumes all hours are created equal. Energy management recognizes that 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. are not the same for most people. Instead of asking, “When can I fit this in?” you ask, “When will I have the focus and capacity to do this well?” This shift is key for avoiding entrepreneur burnout and creating sustainable business growth.
Cycle syncing means aligning your work with the natural hormonal phases of your menstrual cycle. For example, you might batch creative projects during your follicular and ovulatory phases when energy is higher, and focus on admin or reflection during luteal and menstrual phases. Research shows it can improve mood, boost energy, and help manage PMS symptoms — and for those with PCOS, it can also support hormone balance.
Absolutely. If you don’t have a cycle, you can still track daily and weekly patterns to identify your personal “creative peak hours.” Many men and post-menopausal women use energy tracking to optimize their workflows and reduce decision fatigue.
