Who said meals for busy moms can’t be made with shortcuts? Here are 9 food & wine delivery services that are perfect for busy working mamas on the go.
Being a working mom means juggling dozens of things at the same time, both in and out of the home. I, for one, am often so exhausted at the end of the day that I cannot imagine having to cook dinner for my whole family on top of everything else. And I love to cook! (I mean, I literally have a cookbook!) But one place you can seriously save time and energy is at the dinner table. Food delivery services make quick meals for busy moms and families so much easier.
Why Should You Use a Food Delivery Service for Meals for Busy Moms & Families?
For moms that are short on time, food delivery services are the perfect shortcut. Every mama wants to cook healthy, nutritious dinners for their kids, but hours of meal prep and cooking time don’t often fit into their weekly schedules. Cooking original recipes for my family has always been one of my favorite things to do, but when my business started really picking up, I had to call in some reinforcements. I’ve used food (and wine!) delivery services for years now, and they’ve made my life so much easier.
And don’t let the mom shamers get to you on this one! Being a mom is hard: sometimes we don’t get the support we need to balance our responsibilities and make it through the day smoothly. But just because we’re able to have it all doesn’t mean we have to do it all alone!
It’s okay to let things be easy sometimes — if cooking dinner from your family doesn’t light you up, then that’s okay. Food delivery services can be part of your village and free up some much-needed bandwidth so you can focus on what actually gives you joy, both at home and in your business. Incorporating food delivery services into my cooking routine was my way of giving myself grace and getting some help.
Plus, delivery services are wayyyyy more convenient than driving over to the grocery store, going up and down the aisles with your shopping list, making the commute back, and unpacking everything. I’m tired just thinking about it! By using a delivery service, you get that time back and can spend your day doing something that matters more to you. Entrepreneur mamas, invest this time into yourself and your business!
9 Food & Wine Delivery Services to Make Quick Meals for Busy Moms
No more stressing over what you’ll make for dinner or when you’ll fit in your weekly grocery run! Here’s a list of nine food and wine delivery services that you can trust to save you time, money, and sanity.
ButcherBox
I’ve used ButcherBox for years, and my family and I absolutely love it! It’s my go-to source for proteins — everything from beef and chicken to salmon and lobster — and has saved us tons of money at the grocery store.
When you sign up for a subscription to ButcherBox, you’ll receive high-quality meat delivered fresh to your door each month. You have the option to go with a curated meat selection or build your own custom box. Prices vary depending on the size of your box, the custom proteins you choose, and any add-ons you pick, but the price averages out to about $6 per meal. And shipping is free on all boxes, so win-win!
ButcherBox truly cares for the planet and you can see it in every level of their service. All of their proteins come from humanely-raised farm animals or wild-caught and sustainably harvested seafood. Their shipping boxes are eco-friendly, insulated, and fully recyclable, too.
Winc
Call on Winc when you want to make meals for moms only — no kids allowed here! Winc is a more recent addition to my toolbox of delivery services, but I’ve really enjoyed the wines I’ve tried so far.
When you join, you take a quick quiz on your tastes so the Winc team can tailor a wine box to your preferences every month. After you’ve tried all the wines in your box, you rate each bottle so your recommendations will improve as you go.
All of Winc’s wines are sustainably produced in Santa Barbara, California with minimal intervention in the winemaking process. You can choose from vegan, organic, low sugar, and low sulfur options, too. And Winc is paired with 1% For The Planet, so your purchases go towards preserving the environment. They don’t deliver to every US state, though, so make sure you check their website before signing up.
Daily Harvest
Moms on the go, I’m sure you’re familiar with breakfast smoothies. One of my favorite picks for nutritious, delicious smoothies is Daily Harvest — but with bowls, soups, flatbreads, and more, they’ve become a one-stop shop for quick and easy meals for busy moms and kiddos! My family loves having smoothies for breakfast and leaning on Daily Harvest has seriously sped up our morning routine.
With Daily Harvest, you don’t have to spend time prepping your fruits and veggies: everything comes perfectly portioned so you can just heat (or blend) and go. They’re the perfect fast meal for moms on busy days, whether you’re running between your kids’ activities or are stuck in meetings from morning ‘til evening.
SmoothieBox
Starting your day with a smoothie is one of the best ways to get your fresh fruits and veggies in, and SmoothieBox adds some much-needed protein into the mix. Their ready-to-blend frozen smoothie packets are full of organic ingredients with no added sugar or fillers. Plus, the smoothies are gluten-, dairy-, and soy-free, so they can work with any diet.
You can choose from their five delicious flavors to create your own box, or go with one of their curated options. Each smoothie also includes collagen (aka my fave supplement) that strengthens your hair, skin, and nails — you can even add one of their collagen or protein boosters to your box to up your nutrition!
Dry Farm Wines
To make your dinners true meals for busy moms, you’ve got to end your night with a glass of wine. Dry Farm Wines is my favorite place to get organic, naturally healthy options (yes, wine can be healthy!).
Each wine is sourced from sustainable family vineyards that dry-farm their grapes. In dry-farming, fruit is grown without irrigation so the vine has to find its own water source (and the vineyard can save thousands of gallons of water each year). All of their wines are vegan, sugar-free, toxic additive-free, low-sulfite, and low-alcohol. You’ll get a crisp, delicious, clean sip with every bottle!
Scout & Cellar
Scout & Cellar provides clean-crafted artisan wines that are high in flavor but low in sulfites and toxic pesticides. Their bottles contain no artificial ingredients or synthetics that alter the flavor or color of the wine.
You can choose from red, white, sparkling, rosé, or canned options on their website, or sign up for a subscription box to get 6-12 new blends each month. Their selection includes wines from all over the world, and they have vegan options as well.
Farm Foods Market
If you prefer to shop small in your daily life, Farm Foods Market is for you. They work with small family farms and local butchers to deliver high-quality proteins to you each month. All of their farms are non-GMO, and you can read about each farm’s individual practices and standards right on their website.
They have a wide variety of options available, from grass-fed beef and wild-caught fish to pasture-raised chicken and heritage pork. They have some really unique choices too, like organ and bone meat if you’re looking for something more adventurous. Picky eaters might not be fans of those choices, though…
Porter Road
Another meat delivery service! (In my house, meals for busy moms means there’s a protein involved.) Porter Road sources all of their meat from small, sustainable family farms in Tennessee and Kentucky and hand-cuts their proteins on-site in Kentucky, too. Their animals are pasture-raised and vegetarian-fed, and all cuts are dry-aged for amazing flavor.
Their inventory is constantly changing, but they have a wide selection of beef, pork, and chicken. And when I say wide, I mean wide — you can get andouille sausages, bone-in rib eye, and a whole chicken in the same order! All of their proteins are vacuum-sealed for delivery and arrive fresh, not frozen, to preserve juiciness and flavor.
CookUnity
Who said meals for busy moms couldn’t come pre-packaged? CookUnity delivers premium chef-made meals made from fresh, sustainably-sourced ingredients. Think less Kid Cuisine, more gourmet-in-a-box.
Their menu changes every week, so you’re always adding new, delicious selections to your fridge with your membership. You can choose your protein source as well, and they have options for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Their recipes are all designed by local chefs (like Hugh Acheson in Atlanta!) so you’re getting the best of the best in your area. Trying out one of their original dishes always inspires me to get creative in the kitchen and whip up a new recipe! They only deliver to certain locations, though, so check their website to make sure you’re near a CookUnity kitchen.
Meals for busy moms don’t have to take hours of prep work and cooking time. Busy mamas can take their time back by using food and wine delivery services that speed up the dinner process without sacrificing nutritional value.
